Small country nestled in the heart of Europe, born of ceaseless
combat with the sea, the Netherlands (or Holland) has forged
a unique identity in Europe. Country of discoverers, artists,
and philosophers, it is a model of the art of living, and tolerance.
Small country, but big on culture: Amsterdam, Leiden, The Hague,
all are crammed with museums, art galleries, and all sorts of
cultural activities. The Netherlands today is a model of economic
and social development: a high level of living, an unemployment
rate among the lowest in Europe, a cultural melting pot, and
an open spirit that attracts a good number of foreign students
to its prestigious universities.

Holland has a lot of history, is multicultural
and has much activities in the areas art museums, events/festivals.
The biggest part of Holland is build on water, therefore a big
part of Holland lies under the sea level and is protected by
dykes. The total surface of Holland is 41.526 km2. Besides the
mainland Holland is surrounded by the Waddeneilanden: Texel,
Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland, Schiermonnikoog and Rottumeroog.
