 Hi - When I try to login via FTP viewer, I am not seeing any videos from the last 24 hours. Is this what is expected? Am I using it wrong? Are they recoverable?

In Android Mobile Security Camera, please enable background recording. To do this, see the screen below and check the option “Keep recording in background.”

Please tap Settings in the main window, then you can select a camera license and set motion-triggered recording or continuous recording. 

If your account is a free service account, please understand that the free service includes:

(1) All CameraFTP software and apps, such as:

Mobile Security Camera app for iOS and Android. You can use an old phone/tablet as an IP camera or baby/pet monitor;

Webcam Security Camera;

CameraFTP VSS software: use a PC as a powerful CCTV NVR.

CameraFTP Viewer apps for iOS, Android and Windows and any web browser.

(2) Live 2-way video and audio viewing or calling from anywhere.

(3) Very limited cloud recording (for demo purpose only). You can only play back a few recorded footage files. These files are automatically deleted after 1 day. 

 

If you want to record continuously, or keep the footage for longer than 1 day, you just need to order a cloud recording plan. You can customize a plan based on your budget and quality requirements.

The "Keep recording in the background" checkbox means the app will keep running in the background, but it does not change how the app records security footage to the cloud. For example:

(1) if your CameraFTP Mobile Security Camera app was set to record continuously, then if the app is running in the foreground, it will record continuously; if you press the Home button, switch to another app, or reboot the device, the app will still record continuously while running in the background.

(2) If the app was set to record only when a motion is detected, then when it is running in the background, it will still upload when a motion is detected.

So it does not change how the app records / uploads. If you want to set it to record continuously, you need to tap Settings and then configure it in the Settings screen. Please note you need to order a continuous recording plan. 

Note: if you don't check this checkbox, then the app will stop running if it is not in the foreground (if you switch to another app, or press Home).
